Join Protolabs as a Manager of Accounting Operations! This is a fixed hybrid role, requiring onsite presence Tuesday-Thursday in Maple Plain, MN. The Manager of Accounting Ops is responsible for providing leadership to employees in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, and Credit & Collections. This role involves managing day-to-day processes, identifying and leading opportunities for process improvements, and monitoring and reporting performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of finance leadership experience, preferably managing employees directly
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Ability to work and communicate well within all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and flexibility to change is essential
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and employees in a professional, personable, and effective manner

Responsibilities

  • Provide Accounts Payable leadership and support, including researching and resolving issues, processing and reviewing vendor invoices and payments, responding to inquiries, assisting with vendor data maintenance, and reviewing/approving vendor payable reports.
  • Provide Accounts Receivable leadership and support, ensuring team meets cash collection targets, communicating with customers, managing escalations, working with Sales on A/R issues, forecasting bad debt reserves, fulfilling audit requests, and managing A/R credit/debit memos.
  • Oversee customer Invoicing activities (e.g., credit card processing, cash application, credit notes) and ensure timely invoice delivery.
  • Provide Credit & Collections leadership and support, including collections calls, analysis of customer financial information, establishing new accounts and terms, monitoring customer credit and ship holds, auditing delinquent accounts, maintaining DSO under 45 days, handling bankrupt files, preparing accounts for third-party collection, and striving for recovery of uncollectible accounts.
  • Provide general finance operations leadership support.
  • Manage a team of employees including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Credit & Collections, providing management including hiring, performance management, coaching, development, communication, and expectation setting.
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures are fulfilled and documented.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Complete performance reviews for team members.
  • Facilitate and implement process improvements.
  • Lead team projects to improve systems and processes.
  • Process and issue weekly reports for financial updates.
