About The Position

The Edge Platform team oversees planning, building, maintaining, and operating the global platform. They design, develop, and deploy essential technologies. This includes hardware, software, and network infrastructure supporting Akamai's products. The team ensures reliable availability and optimal performance for customers. As the Manager of Network Infrastructure, you will lead a technical, 24x7 operations team maintaining large-scale network infrastructure. You will resolve complex engineering issues, manage trouble escalations, and maintain core processes. Your team will diagnose hardware, facilitate repairs, manage assets, and partner with datacenter staff. You will work globally with a team of field technicians, internal teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements

6+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree
Experience in Internet infrastructure environments, including routing and access networks
Experience managing technical teams, including a remote global team
Demonstrate a passion for building productive relationships with teams, providers, and partners
Be familiar with data center portals and NOC environments
Possess solid communication skills

Responsibilities

Cultivating and providing direct supervision for a group of maintenance engineers.
Developing, documenting, refining and maintaining operations policies, processes, procedures, and escalations to internal groups and equipment vendors.
Designing, developing, and maintaining alerts and run books to improve fault detection and operational visibility.
Evaluating technical skills of the maintenance team to ensure appropriate expertise.
Determining training needs for solutions and facilitating team training sessions.
Supporting the resolution of high-severity technical incidents and managing remote assets.
