About The Position

As part of the Global Finance Strategic alignment with the new all-bank strategy, the Manager, Model Design and Governance, is responsible for assisting with the architecture and governance of the Anaplan model as part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) modernization program and enterprise-wide implementation of Anaplan. The Manager supports the overall success of Global Finance by ensuring specific individual tasks and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in Finance.
  • 1+ years experience in FP&A.
  • Ability to gather, understand, and action business requirements.
  • Developed planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to build relationships across the Bank and with external vendors.
  • Developed presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial modeling / scenario building experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Support the implementation of planning and forecasting modernization across the Bank.
  • Assist in discussions with key stakeholders to capture and translate business requirements into effective Anaplan solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of our product portfolio and business models to provide advice on design standards.
  • Help maintain a governance process to ensure data integrity and model accuracy.
  • Assist in establishing standard processes and documentation for models.
  • Support the promotion of Anaplan best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members and implementation partners on specific activities for alignment with program objectives.
  • Support the design and delivery of financial analysis processes and tools within Anaplan.
  • Assist in managing Financial Management Information requirements for all business lines.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
