This role is for a motivated Manager to lead the Migrant Workers Program, based at one of our Vancouver locations. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (refugee and/or forced migration studies, intercultural studies, social studies, social work, business administration, area studies) or a combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Migrant Workers space and settlement services.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of settlement procedures and organizations in BC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Migrant Workers Program, including supervising staff.
  • Collaborate with internal programs (Settlement, Language, Employment, Child and Family) and external agencies, organizations, and stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate service delivery for migrant workers.
  • Ensure familiarity with funder contract agreements, funding expectations, cross-regional services, co-location programs, and operations.
  • Ensure program/service policies, procedures, and service standards are appropriate and meet CARF standards.
  • Supervise and support settlement workers, program assistants, and volunteers.
  • Facilitate curriculum and resource development for staff.
  • Ensure consistent and professional delivery of the Program.
  • Provide direct settlement information and support to newcomer clients as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide presentations to target communities and/or stakeholders.
  • Supervise the promotion and marketing of related activities.
  • Work closely with managers of other Settlement programs.
  • Participate in/lead/facilitate various meetings (team, partnership, departmental, cluster, all staff, community), in-service training, and other assigned training.
  • Maintain working knowledge of emergent issues in newcomer settlement and community capacity building.
  • Coordinate the development of innovative services and resource materials supporting settlement and capacity building for newcomers.
  • Assist senior manager in identifying emerging newcomer needs and funding sources.
  • Participate in the development and submission of proposals and budgets for new and existing programs.
  • Assist senior manager and Finance Department in preparing contract budgets.
  • Monitor contract budgets, cash flows, variances, financial statements, reports, and expense records.
  • Hire, retain, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Develop and support staff to reach their potential.
  • Direct program assistants to ensure volunteers receive orientation, proper placement, and adhere to MOSAIC Volunteer Resources policies.
  • Ensure implementation of MOSAIC’s policies and procedures.
  • Engage in public relations with community partners.
  • Act as a resource for community organizations, stakeholders, and partners to collaborate with MOSAIC in building capacity for immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Partner with community organizations and stakeholders to organize and coordinate public education/information/resource events.
  • Attend consultations, meetings, and conferences on issues related to settlement, newcomer labor market integration, community development, and policy dialogue.
  • Promote MOSAIC as a cross-region stakeholder and service provider through participation in community committees, task forces, and networks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of narrative and data reports.
  • Regularly inform the senior manager on the progress of contractual outputs and outcomes.
  • Compile reports and service statistics for the senior manager on emerging issues, community trends, settlement services, and funder feedback.
