About The Position

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Microbiology Manager. The manager of the microbiology department serves as a visible, engaged, and collaborative leader responsible for supporting a high-performing team. The manager helps to formulate plans, organizes resources, directs personnel and develops policies in the microbiology laboratory as directed by the medical director. The manager has twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week responsibility of the department and sections of the laboratory to ensure implementation of the medical/clinical programs. The manager needs to have the skills to communicate with transparency, professional and emotional intelligence while fostering a positive work environment and maintaining high performance and regulatory standards. This manager will be working with a highly engaged team that is process driven and patient care focused.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Clinical Laboratory Scientist or related area of specialty.
• MT(ASCP), CLS(ASCP, or MT(AMT)
• 5 years of Laboratory experience.

Nice To Haves

• 2 to 5 years of management experience preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of microbiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Formulate plans, organize resources, direct personnel and develop policies in the microbiology laboratory as directed by the medical director.
• Ensure implementation of the medical/clinical programs for the department and sections of the laboratory on a 24/7 basis.
• Communicate with transparency, professional and emotional intelligence.
• Foster a positive work environment.
• Maintain high performance and regulatory standards.
