About The Position

Spectrum Retirement Communities believes in living without limits, aging fearlessly, and sharing great stories. The Manager, Memory Care position is responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members. This role implements resident-centered dementia care and provides nursing care to residents, including health assessments, resident care plans, discussing changes in resident condition with physicians, and introducing interventions to reduce falls. The position also involves medication administration and assisting with resident care as needed. In conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team, the Manager, Memory Care coordinates the resident admission process, including screening, assessment, and care planning. This position may occasionally fill in on the weekend as a Manager-On-Duty.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse required.
  • Must meet all state requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates may be considered with caregiver certifications beneficial to the community plus management experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors preferred.
  • A strong background in patient care assessment, assessing resident behavioral symptoms and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs.
  • Has experience in community or long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medication administration and help with resident care, as needed.
  • Coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment and care planning in conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team.
  • Occasionally fill in on the weekend as a Manager-On-Duty.
