About The Position

The Manager, Memory Care oversees team members and resident care in a memory care setting. The role includes recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and staffing team members; implementing resident-centered dementia care; and providing nursing care, including health assessments, resident care plans, communication with physicians about changes in resident condition, fall-prevention interventions tailored to individual residents, medication administration, and assistance with resident care as needed. In coordination with the community’s multidisciplinary team, the manager also coordinates resident admissions, including screening, assessment, and care planning. The position may occasionally require filling in on weekends as a Manager-On-Duty.

Requirements

Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Candidates may be considered with caregiver certifications beneficial to the community plus management experience.
Strong background in patient care assessment, assessing resident behavioral symptoms, and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs.
Experience in community or long-term care settings.
Must meet all state requirements.

Nice To Haves

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.
Minimum 1–2 years of management experience directing or providing dementia care for seniors preferred.
