About The Position

Responsible for the development of communication plans and strategies for executives in addition to developing marketing and PR collateral to support new business goals and objectives. Writes and Edits compelling sales and marketing-related materials that are persuasive, truthful and convincing. Craft creative and innovative messaging to build brand awareness for a diverse, service- and sales-oriented insurance brokerage firm. Also responsible for managing the overall public relations programs, with an emphasis on building media and association relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six (6) or more years experience in a marketing communications role
  • Demonstrable experience using customer relationship management systems to deliver
  • Five (5) or more years related work experience
  • Insurance brokerage or insurance company experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and managing marketing strategies
  • Knowledge of CRM programs, Salesforce preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to write and create content
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relationships with others

Responsibilities

  • Employs knowledge of the insurance industry to assist in writing white papers in collaboration with SMEs, press releases, brochures, sell sheets, internal and external emails, web page content and additional communications designed to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Implements and adheres to brand standards, as well as acts as a brand advocate to the client/business units.
  • Partners with internal clients on creative direction and execution, including coordinating requirements, fulfilling requests, reviewing output and materials through final draft and delivery to client or prospect.
  • Works collaboratively with internal clients, marketing colleagues and other stakeholders to ideate new concepts and creates value for the business.
  • Determines scope of work, estimates budget and predicts appropriate timeline on projects.
  • Helps drive cohesion among colleagues by delivering thought leadership, guidance and direction to Executive leadership, Producers and Account Executives.
  • Identifies opportunities to drive greater efficiency in the creative network through greater leverage of a shared service operating model.
  • Leads selected key initiatives, including those that assist with broadening awareness of company market positions while increasing visibility across key stakeholder audiences including employees, clients, and insurers.
  • Works with marketing leadership to identify communications-related challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization, as well as defines and executes appropriate solutions to respond to them.
  • Creates marketing and public relations strategies that allow leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and key influencers.
  • Works to develop persuasive messaging to assist in broadening the company’s reach in key market segments and creates new and original concepts and strategies for sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Creates compelling differentiators for the company from competitors.
  • Identifies and develops marketing and advertising opportunities for the company.
  • Writes original content and edits existing content for all sales and marketing-related collateral materials.
  • Researches, writes and distributes company news releases, announcements, and similar public communications designed to strengthen the company’s market presence and message; generates unique angles for these communications.
  • Manages a multi-faceted national public relations program with a goal of positively impacting business and the company’s market presence.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with key media contacts, with a heavy emphasis on educating the media on the company’s value proposition.
  • Serves as company spokesperson on media inquiries in absence of senior communications/public relations executive.
  • Strategizes with department leadership on positioning key company employees as industry subject matter experts (SMEs) with various trade publications and associations.
  • Develops story angles and pitches ideas to key industry or specialty publication editors.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
