About The Position

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Operations to join our growing team. While managing and motivating the management team, this individual will be responsible for all aspects of his/her team’s performance, including but not limited to: safety, quality, production, and training.

Requirements

B.A. or equivalent from a four-year college; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing process principle in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Assures all training is current for reports (i.e. safety, process, quality)
Assigns Group Managers and Leaders to meet production requirements.
Interprets process specifications for team.
Monitors production and adjusts work assignments, supply of material, and machine operation when necessary.
Shifts labor around for production needs.
Prioritizes production plan by utilizing current tools such as schedule aides, run lists etc...
Confers with Managers and Leaders to receive instructions and exchange production information.
Works on and assigns out projects to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory.
Audits and sustains processes.
Participates in GEMBA walks
Develops team members
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
