This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities concerned with the design, construction, and modification of all production processes, equipment, and machinery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to effectively utilize word processing software and spreadsheets and to navigate and use other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all applicable ISO-9001 procedures relating to the duties of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and any associated manufacturing operations.
  • Follows all applicable Departmental and Shop safety rules.
  • Responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering in Lancaster.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all manufacturing processes: Design, selection, acquisition, maintenance and repair of all production fixturing, tooling, production equipment methods and operator methods.
  • Development, optimization, and maintenance of all CNC programs.
  • Determination and improvement of all machining feeds and speeds.
  • Responsible for all SAP routings.
  • Responsible for the management and direction of all employees in the Manufacturing Departments.
  • Assist in the capital, justification and evaluation.
  • Develops new product costing and evaluation of make vs. buy studies on existing product.
  • Overall responsibility for cost improvement for direct and indirect elements of the manufacturing processes.
