About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, and utilities, including ammonia compressors, the offal department, and the Wastewater Department. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions, ensuring maintenance personnel are well-trained, providing a safe workplace, monitoring plant equipment to minimize downtime, establishing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking work orders and inventory, making recommendations for improving operations, ensuring personnel are trained and equipped, maintaining a tracking system for key maintenance parameters, ensuring compliance with safety, health, OSHA, PSM, and environmental policies, administering the purchasing and use of parts and supplies, ensuring refrigeration and wastewater systems are well-maintained, and administering the maintenance budget to achieve financial goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 plus years maintenance experience.
  • Standard computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; some public speaking skills.
  • Industrial Maintenance in fields such as electrical, refrigeration, hydraulics, or mechanical.
  • Responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform similar or interrelated tasks.
  • 1-5 domestic trips per year.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel are well trained on the most updated version of operating equipment as well as other maintenance skills.
  • Provide a safe workplace and comply with all safety and regulated programs.
  • Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify issues.
  • Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking work orders and adequate and appropriate inventory of replacement parts.
  • Make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems through analyzing data.
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel are properly trained, equipped, and motivated so maintenance programs and processes can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the Costal Training system is in place and communicated to maintenance personnel and provide the resources for skillsets needed.
  • Maintain a tracking system that assists in analyzing key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, etc.
  • Ensure all safety, health, OSHA, PSM, and environmental policies and procedures are in compliance with company policy as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure safety program is communicated and enforced.
  • Monitor and administer purchasing and use of all parts, equipment, materials, and supplies utilized in the maintenance department.
  • Ensure refrigeration system and wastewater systems are well maintained and meet all regulatory guidelines.
  • Administer the maintenance budget and ensure the achievement of financial goals.
