This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, and utilities, including ammonia compressors, offal, and the Wastewater Department. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions, ensuring all maintenance personnel are well-trained on the most updated versions of operating equipment and other maintenance skills, and providing a safe workplace that complies with all safety and regulated programs. The role involves constantly monitoring plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify issues. It also includes establishing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking work orders and ensuring an adequate inventory of replacement parts. Recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems through data analysis are expected. The manager will ensure maintenance personnel are properly trained, equipped, and motivated for safe, timely, and efficient program execution. The Coastal Training system must be in place and communicated, with resources provided for needed skillsets. A tracking system for analyzing key maintenance parameters like asset utilization, maintenance cost, and PM compliance is also required. Other duties include ensuring compliance with safety, health, OSHA, PSM, and environmental policies and procedures, enforcing the safety program, monitoring and administering the purchasing and use of all parts, equipment, materials, and supplies for the maintenance department, and ensuring refrigeration and wastewater systems are well-maintained and meet regulatory guidelines. The role also involves administering the maintenance budget and achieving financial goals.
