About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the entire Hilton Grand Vacation facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. The position ensures the upkeep of landscaping and guest areas to maintain an attractive property and manages all rehabilitation, expansion, and special projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 Years related experience
  • 2-4 years of management and supervisory experience
  • HVAC experience
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate, develop, and engage staff in a positive manner that produces business results.
  • Demonstrates problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Displays effective organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines and manage competing priorities within a small team environment.
  • Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and negotiate with a range of internal and external clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as an Assistant Chief Engineer, or position of a similar role within a timeshare or luxury resort.
  • Knowledge of timeshare ownership preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge OSHA and building engineering.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Universal EPA Certification
  • CPO Certification

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular walk-throughs to assess the physical structure(s) of the building for safety, efficient maintenance, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back-of-house spaces, and grounds.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of repairs, replacement, and renovation projects for offices and employee work areas.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and disciplines all staff under the direction of the Engineering Department.
  • Adheres to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls, including outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy.
  • Informs the General Manager and other department managers about the condition of the building, structure(s), systems, and equipment, offering cost-effective proposals.
  • Maintains an appropriate supply of materials and equipment for daily operations and maintenance.
  • Maintains organized and efficient administrative and filing systems within Engineering for correspondence, reports, purchase requisitions, and other administrative requirements.
  • Maintains a well-defined and organized system within the shop for inventory, maintenance, and storage of tools, products, materials, and equipment.
  • Is immediately available to report to the property in the event of any emergency requiring the skills and expertise of the Director of Engineering, such as fires, power failures, floods, or other disasters.
