About The Position

Plans and directs the daily security functions of a commercial facility and supervise and train the security staff to ensure the safety and protection of the individuals, tenants, and the public within and on the premises.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree or technical/vocational school certificate
  • Experience in a security related field
  • Proven experience with management, evaluation, development and motivation of staff
  • Working knowledge of security within a commercial facility
  • Working knowledge of electronic monitoring, CCTV and access control systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Security State and Federal Laws and Regulations
  • Knowledge of state and federal ADA regulations
  • CPR certified
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, finance and accounting
  • May be required to be licensed
  • Should be familiar with property rights, emergency procedures, and detention of violators
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise security staff through verbal communication, written directives, tutorials and quarterly training to maintain a consistent security and safety presence and promote job knowledge.
  • Deter possible security breaches by using the latest state of the art video surveillance equipment and constant physical tours and inspections of the building interior and exterior premises.
  • Responsible for building access control using the appropriate on-site systems and data base. Controls must be in place for all hours of operation and all access points into building and tenant space.
  • Train tenants with the help of Fire and Police liaisons, C&W Fire Safety Director, tenant fire safety staff, through incident preparedness seminars and meetings, and building evacuation drills.
  • Purchase, maintain and update all security electronic monitoring, CCTV, and related computer systems.
  • Purchase, maintain and update all security uniforms and supplies.
  • Create and maintain security manuals and equipment tutorials.
  • Maintain all security daily reports, access, log sheets and files.
  • Initiate and document all purchases pertaining to security and safety.
  • Administer tenant access control through the on-site facilities system.
  • Conduct Fire/Life safety training and drills.
  • Establish working relationship with major building tenants, Police and Fire departments, B.O.M.A. Security Committee and the client.
  • Act as primary liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as local medical and fire personnel.
  • Serve as building emergency liaison with the County Emergency Management and building Asset Manager.
  • Assist tenant Human Resources with security investigations, terminations, and disputes.
  • Advise building tenants with various security related issues.
  • Assist tenants during their annual Business Continuity exercises.
  • Ensure all Life Safety equipment is maintained, inspected, and tested as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and continue to develop business relationships with various security vendors as well as senior practitioners.
  • Oversee security related Capital Construction Projects.
  • Arrange Executive Protection if requested by tenants.
  • Develop and maintain an Incident Report database to track trends.
  • Develop and maintain a Security Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Review daily security logs and incident reports.
  • Respond to all security related events.
  • Ensure security staff is properly trained in accordance with any state regulations.
