Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology
  • ASCP preferred
  • Blood Bank experience required
  • 2-5 years of Managerial experience
  • hospital setting preferred
  • Influenza Vaccinations are a requirement for employment. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date, during the influenza season, if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes procedure protocol for the section
  • Monitors staff productivity and analyzes workload and test statistics
  • Controls inventory and ensure supplies and equipment is use in cost effective manner
  • Maintains all records to comply with inspection
  • Stays abreast of new tests, new procedures and new technology in the Medical Technology
  • Initiates discussion with medical and administrative personnel regarding implementation of new methodology, tests and procedures as appropriate
  • Establishes and implements written operating procedures and protocols that are in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Promote the continuing professional development of staff and oversee the training of trainees
  • Analyzes problems effectively.

  • Keeps Supervisors informed of developments and outcomes.

  • Attends/participates in staff meetings and reviews/signs minutes of all meetings not attended.

  • Ensures timely distribution (internal and external) of financial reports.
  • Assists in record retention management.
  • Participates in data collection for quality improvement.
