About The Position

The Manager, Information Technology will oversee and manage the company's information technology operations, ensuring that IT infrastructure and services are aligned with business objectives. This team member will have strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and operational efficiency within the IT department. This role involves leading and developing a diverse IT team across various specialties, including project management, product ownership, support, and technical roles. The primary focus will be on successfully executing IT initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and supporting the team through technological changes and challenges. In addition, you will ensure continuous team growth and maintain alignment with the organization’s goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant and practical experience, preferably in IT management or a related role, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Transition from an individual contributor role to a people leadership position, focusing on developing and mentoring team members to foster their growth and success within the organization.
  • Demonstrate foundational leadership and team management skills, guiding and supporting team members to achieve their tasks while encouraging collaboration and professional growth.
  • Actively support team members by identifying and creating opportunities for skill development, cross-functional exposure, and career advancement, ensuring their success and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, effectively addressing challenges and making informed decisions under pressure. Resolve routine issues independently, escalating complex problems to senior management when necessary.
  • Possess basic proficiency in IT project management methodologies and tools, supporting the planning and execution of projects under the guidance of senior leaders.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff and facilitating clear understanding across the team.
  • Responsible use of approved AI tools, including safeguarding sensitive information, adhering to company policies, and validating AI-generated outputs.
  • Ability to integrate AI into daily work, improve efficiency through AI-enabled solutions, evaluate outputs critically, and apply professional judgment when using AI.
  • Ability to drive responsible AI adoption, enable effective use of approved solutions, identify opportunities to improve team performance through AI, and ensure accountability for the quality and accuracy of AI-supported outcomes.

  • Emphasize day-to-day product management tasks and delivery, ensuring that goals and timelines are met.
  • Ensure that processes are followed and issues are resolved to meet stated SLAs, driving continuous operational improvements.
  • Implement and utilize the enterprise-wide performance management system to set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct timely performance reviews for team members, fostering a supportive environment for individual growth and team success.
  • Apply Agile and Waterfall approaches to balance flexible, iterative development with structured planning and documentation, and implement scrum practices for adaptable delivery with clear milestones and reporting.
  • Identify and assess potential risks within IT projects and operations, implementing basic mitigation strategies to minimize impact on team deliverables.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and consultants to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services.
  • Directly manage a team of subject matter experts, supporting their development and acting as a technical resource to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to the team, ensuring best practices are followed and maintaining technical excellence.
