About The Position

The Manager, Internet Operations is responsible for developing, releasing, and maintaining Internet, Intranet, and Extranet systems and services that support a wide range of content. The role works with business leaders and IT groups to prioritize projects and use Internet technologies to support business strategy, improve communications, and expand access to information. It coordinates Internet and Web development activities to ensure integration with enterprise technologies and continuity across applications, and establishes standards for project initiation, design, development, and support.

A key challenge is managing and prioritizing business requests while influencing and coordinating Internet technology development taking place outside IT. This is a middle-level management position working under general direction of senior management. The manager typically manages and mentors supervisors, project leaders, and/or technical staff, and serves as a project leader and subject matter expert on multiple complex projects. The posting says this role frequently reports to a Chief Technology Officer, IT Chief Operating Officer, E-Business Executive, or Departmental IT Executive.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of IT and business work experience.
• Experience managing teams responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems across multiple platforms.
• Experience with online relational database management systems, multimedia, and Web application development and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, release, and maintain Internet, Intranet, and Extranet systems and services.
• Work with business leaders and IT groups to prioritize projects and maximize the effectiveness of Internet technologies in supporting business strategy, improving communications, and enabling access to information.
• Coordinate Internet and Web development activities, ensuring integration with other enterprise technologies and continuity across applications.
• Develop standards for Internet and Web project initiation, design, development, and support.
• Manage and prioritize business requests, and influence and coordinate Internet technology development occurring outside IT.
• Manage and mentor supervisors, project leaders, and/or technical staff.
• Lead multiple complex projects and contribute as a subject matter expert.
