About The Position

We are a global company with operations across the U.S. and multiple international jurisdictions, and we are continuously modernizing how we deliver finance and tax through automation, data, and emerging technologies. Asurion is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax team. This role will play a key part in supporting U.S. international tax compliance and technical analysis, while helping the team continue its transformation through process improvement, automation, and the thoughtful use of technology (including AI‑enabled tools). This role is ideal for someone with international tax experience, though strong U.S. tax compliance experience (including complex calculations and reporting) is also highly valued. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, partnering cross‑functionally, and applying tax technical knowledge to real‑world business activities. This position may be based in Nashville, TN (relocation assistance available) or another U.S. location. Candidates based in Nashville and assigned to the office are expected to work onsite three days per week in alignment with Asurion’s hybrid work model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA, JD, or equivalent professional certification
  • 5+ years of experience in U.S. international tax compliance, corporate tax, or technical tax roles
  • Meaningful exposure to Subpart F, GILTI/NCTI calculations, FDII, and/or foreign tax credit calculations
  • Strong tax research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience working with tax provision processes and financial reporting teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax concepts to non‑tax stakeholders
  • High level of integrity and comfort handling sensitive and confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • Broader international tax experience supporting U.S. multinationals
  • Experience with transfer pricing compliance or OECD‑related reporting
  • Previous public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm) experience
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting systems (e.g., ONESOURCE, Microsoft Dynamics, Onestream, Orbitax, or similar platforms)
  • Demonstrated interest in tax technology, automation, data management, and AI‑enabled tools

Responsibilities

  • Support U.S. international income tax compliance, including preparation, review, and documentation of positions related to: Subpart F income, Net CFC Tested Income (NCTI) under the GILTI regime, Foreign‑Derived Intangible Income (FDII), Foreign tax credit (FTC) calculations and limitation analyses
  • Assist with the preparation and review of U.S. federal income tax returns and related international reporting (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 1118), as applicable
  • Research and analyze U.S. and international tax issues and prepare clear, practical tax memoranda documenting conclusions and recommendations
  • Monitor U.S. and international tax legislative and regulatory developments and assess impacts to the company
  • Assist with tax planning and structuring for business initiatives, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other strategic transactions
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Accounting, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and audit‑ready documentation
  • Provide technical support for quarterly and annual income tax provision processes, including international components of the provision
  • Assist with transfer pricing compliance and documentation (e.g., CbCR, master file, local file), as applicable
  • Support responses to tax authority inquiries and audits, including income tax, transfer pricing, and indirect tax matters
  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and data flows
  • Leverage and help enhance the automation platforms used by the tax team (e.g., compliance, provision, workflow, and data tools), including the practical application of analytics and AI‑enabled solutions
  • Assist with special projects and cross‑functional initiatives as needed
  • Manage and develop members of the Philippines‑based tax team, including delegating work, reviewing deliverables, and collaborating effectively across time zones to meet deadlines
