$85,000 - $95,000Remote

About The Position

Descartes is building a new Integrations Team focused on accelerating go-to-market success and ecosystem growth across its Transportation Management Suite of products, with emphasis on Aljex, MacroPoint, and MyCarrierPortal. The Manager, Integrations is a leadership role responsible for defining and executing the third-party integration strategy while building and leading a team of Integration Specialists. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, go-to-market alignment, technical execution, and customer success. This leader will serve as both a strategic decision-maker determining which integrations belong in the ecosystem, and a hands-on technical leader who understands APIs, integration specifications, and real-world partner implementation workflows. The role requires deep familiarity with the freight broker, freight technology, and TMS landscape, combined with the ability to translate that knowledge into scalable, high-quality integrations that drive customer value.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in the freight broker and freight technology space, with deep familiarity with TMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing technical or integration-focused teams.
  • Hands-on experience working with APIs and system integrations, including the ability to review and understand integration specifications.
  • Proven ability to align technical initiatives with go-to-market strategy and business outcomes.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Support, and Account Management teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Aljex, MacroPoint, MyCarrierPortal, or similar broker-focused platforms.
  • Background working with third-party freight tech vendors and technology partnerships.
  • Experience designing or scaling integration programs in a SaaS environment.
  • Familiarity with modern API standards (REST, webhooks, authentication models, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the third-party integration strategy for our TM product suite.
  • Establish clear criteria and governance for evaluating, prioritizing, and approving new third-party integrations, balancing ecosystem growth with strategic alignment.
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Account Management to ensure integrations support go-to-market initiatives, customer acquisition, retention, and expansion.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on integration positioning—when integrations are a competitive advantage, a table stake, or unnecessary.
  • Maintain a clear perspective on the freight tech ecosystem, including TMS platforms, broker tools, and emerging technology partners.
  • Lead the strategy for Aljex integrations, recognizing its role as a mission-critical TMS at the center of many third-party vendors’ platforms.
  • Determine which partners align with Descartes’ long-term vision and customer needs, and which integrations should be deprioritized or declined.
  • Oversee both standardized integrations based on defined integration specifications and custom API integrations for strategic partners.
  • Drive a broad and scalable integration approach for MacroPoint and MyCarrierPortal across the diverse TMS landscape.
  • Ensure integrations remain current with evolving partner features, APIs, and industry requirements.
  • Improve buyer-friendliness and customer value by delivering high-quality, pre-built integrations that reduce friction for both new prospects and existing customers, ensuring MacroPoint and MyCarrierPortal have best-in-class integration for our customers.
  • Build, lead, and coach a team of Integration Specialists, setting clear expectations for quality, delivery, and technical excellence.
  • Track and manage multiple concurrent integration initiatives, balancing new builds, enhancements, and customer-specific integrations.
  • Ensure integrations are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Establish and optimize integration workflows, implementation processes, and best practices across the team.
  • Provide technical and strategic guidance during complex or high-profile integration projects.
  • Serve as the escalation point for integration-related issues that cannot be resolved by Support teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centric execution.
