About The Position

Moog Corporate IT is seeking a working People Leader to manage Integration Engineering. This player-coach will combine hands-on technical contributions with direct people management, running the team's day-to-day operations, setting technical direction, coordinating priorities across platforms, and serving as the primary contact for operating-group and Corporate IT stakeholders. The manager will help establish the team's operating model, including an integration catalog, consistent intake and prioritization, and clear stakeholder relationships. The position provides technical leadership across integration platforms, supports development and production operations, and partners with the Integration Architect on platform strategy and modernization. It also manages team workload and development, vendor relationships, integration service levels, and consistent software delivery and change practices. Integration work must comply with Moog's aerospace and defense regulatory environment, including CMMC, ITAR, and applicable data-handling and cybersecurity requirements. This is a hybrid position based in Buffalo, New York. The successful candidate must live locally to work onsite or be willing to relocate; a remote work schedule is not possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on integration development experience with iPaaS, eQ, Azure Data Factory or comparable app-to-app/ETL tooling, and IBM MQ Series or comparable enterprise messaging.
  • At least 3 years leading highly technical engineering teams, including third-party staff augmentation and federated delivery models.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring developers in a formal management role or as a senior technical lead.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, set priorities, and communicate status and risk in non-technical terms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed, asynchronous, and batch integration patterns.
  • Ability to operate with limited documentation and build processes and structure where none currently exist.
  • Must live in the Buffalo, NY area and work onsite, or be willing to relocate; remote work is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ERP/MES/PLM-adjacent integration patterns, such as SAP, Oracle, or Teamcenter, and the operational constraints of integrating with production manufacturing systems.
  • Experience building or maintaining an integration catalog, service inventory, or similar system of record for technical assets.
  • Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, or Jenkins for integration deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across the team's integration platforms, including design and code/configuration reviews and troubleshooting escalations.
  • Build, implement, and continuously improve enterprise integration patterns and standards, embedding observability, telemetry, logging, and monitoring into solutions.
  • Own and maintain a complete, current inventory of supported integrations, including each integration's purpose, business criticality, and owner.
  • Establish and manage a consistent intake and prioritization process with a shared backlog and transparent prioritization.
  • Serve as the team's primary contact for cross-functional stakeholders, including leaders, application owners, and other IT teams, for planned work and production support.
  • Reduce single-point-of-failure risks by cross-training developers, documenting runbooks, and ensuring critical integrations are not dependent on one person.
  • Manage developers' day-to-day workload and priorities, and provide coaching, technical mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Partner with the Integration Architect on platform strategy, the modernization roadmap, redesign, and tooling decisions.
  • Ensure integration work complies with CMMC, ITAR, and applicable data-handling and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Represent the integration team in program-level planning, provide realistic estimates, and flag roadblocks early.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract renewals, and license and capacity requirements; evaluate tools based on total cost of ownership and technical fit.
  • Establish consistent SDLC practices across platforms, including version control, code review, testing, environment parity, and formal production change management.
  • Define SLAs/SLOs based on business criticality; run incident response and escalation processes; implement proactive observability and alerting; and regularly report integration health and SLA performance.
