About The Position

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement. We are seeking a Manager, Instrumentation to lead and oversee the performance of our instrumentation division based out of Grande Prairie. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing financial performance, and leading high-performing teams to successfully execute maintenance and construction projects. This opportunity focuses on optimizing resources, supporting employee development, and building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Related University degree, college diploma, and/or trade certification and typically 10 or more years of related experience; or combination of formal education and experience.
  • Journeyman Instrumentation Technician ticket.
  • 3 or more years of people leadership experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid Level C - CPR & AED, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Instrumentation teams, including Apprentices and Journeyperson Technicians, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee instrumentation operations, including scheduling, productivity, and cost control.
  • Manage departmental and project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with targets.
  • Optimize workforce planning by allocating manpower, materials, and resources effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on instrumentation design, installation, troubleshooting and operational best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for instrumentation-related projects, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Partner with leadership, Electrical and Automation Managers to identify strategic opportunities, operational efficiency and growth initiatives.
  • Promote and lead a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
