About The Position

Equinix is seeking a strategic and hands-on Instructional Design expert to support its Global Operations & Operational Excellence (GOA) initiatives. This manager-level individual contributor role is for someone who excels at the intersection of learning strategy, content innovation, and business impact. The position involves designing and scaling learning programs to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-performing operations globally. The role requires transforming complex operational processes into clear, engaging, and performance-driven learning experiences that promote adoption, standardization, and measurable results.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or operational training.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Operations, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience supporting operational excellence, process improvement, or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
  • Experience designing process-driven or systems-based training in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Hands-on experience with eLearning development, SCORM, and LMS platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex workflows and operational processes into clear, actionable learning experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across global teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience linking learning to business and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of multiple global learning programs from concept through launch and evaluation.
  • Translate business objectives into impactful learning strategies, frameworks, and measurable outcomes.
  • Define success metrics and continuously optimize programs based on learner and business insights.
  • Conduct learning needs analyses to identify skill gaps and performance opportunities.
  • Design modern, learner-centric experiences using a blend of modalities (eLearning, instructor-led, virtual, microlearning, etc.).
  • Create high-quality, interactive content aligned to adult learning principles and digital best practices.
  • Develop proposals recommending the most effective learning approaches and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to co-create relevant and scalable learning solutions.
  • Influence decision-making through strong consultation, storytelling, and data-backed recommendations.
  • Facilitate training sessions (virtual or in-person) when needed for high-impact programs.
  • Enable and mentor facilitators and junior instructional designers to deliver consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Manage complex learning projects with multiple dependencies, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • Drive alignment across teams by clearly communicating goals, priorities, and progress.
  • Implement scalable processes for efficient content development and delivery.
  • Partner with LMS/HRIS teams to ensure optimal deployment and learner experience.
  • Oversee QA of digital learning assets, including SCORM-compliant content, ensuring proper functionality and tracking.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve engagement, retention, and performance outcomes.
  • Build and maintain a long-term curriculum roadmap aligned to evolving business needs.
