About The Position

This individual contributor role will assist the Tax Leadership team in defining and executing indirect tax strategy across all lines of business, with a heavy focus on standing up new processes and solutions for new and developing business areas. The Manager will operate as an adaptable “utility player,” flexing between strategy, stakeholder alignment, and hands-on build to move work from concept to durable execution.

Requirements

  • Proven change management capability—able to align stakeholders, drive adoption, and land new ways of working
  • Strong communication skills: can explain tax considerations in clear, practical terms to non-tax partners
  • Ability to wear multiple hats without losing the thread on outcomes.
  • 5+ years of indirect tax experience with:
  • Industry background in health care and/or software/technology (experience supporting evolving business models strongly preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of indirect tax concepts (e.g., sales/use tax; VAT/GST principles as applicable; nexus/registration; exemptions; taxability frameworks).
  • 3+ years of strong project leadership and prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multiple lines of business in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Experience building governance/operating rhythms (intake, decisioning, documentation, ongoing controls).
  • Familiarity with tax technology/process improvement work (tools, data flows, workflow design), even if you’re not the system owner.
  • CPA, MBA, or MST preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Tax Leadership team to shape indirect tax strategy and priorities across lines of business, translating direction into clear initiatives and workstreams.
  • Stand up scalable indirect tax processes for emerging or evolving business models, from design through implementation and stabilization.
  • Lead change management for new processes and solutions, driving adoption through stakeholder alignment, documentation, and practical rollout plans.
  • Identify indirect tax risks and opportunities associated with new business activities, and propose pragmatic solutions that balance compliance, simplicity, and speed.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations, business teams) to gather requirements, align on decisions, and keep execution moving.
  • Create repeatable playbooks, templates, and governance rhythms that reduce rework and make execution consistent.
  • Influence outcomes through expertise and relationships (this is not a people leader role).
