About The Position

Contributes to the overall success of the Corporate Security / Physical Security globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree, college diploma and/or equivalent related experience
  • High degree of fluency in English required; French/Spanish desirable.
  • A valid G-class or equivalent Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) considered assets.
  • Minimum 5 years of security or relevant industry experience considered an asset
  • Development and delivery of training programs and awareness campaigns
  • Familiarity with industry security measures, current innovations/technologies and applications

Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Respond to criminal attacks against the bank which affects staff, customers, assets or facilities, to limit loss and mitigate risk to security incidents.
  • Conduct appropriate after-action reviews post-incident.
  • Conduct risk assessments by working closely with internal and external partners to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities and mitigate identified risks to protect the Bank's assets.
  • Mobilize rapidly across Canada to support physical security incidents and provide security oversight to staff, customers and law enforcement agencies.
  • Provide clear and concise directions to staff, customers and community partners in response to critical incidents.
  • Effectively manage, communicate and escalate critical information and situational updates to stakeholders and/or senior leadership.
  • Manage employee preparedness for physical security incidents by providing workplace safety training, conducting education campaigns, and providing resources.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
