About The Position

The Manager In Training (MIT) will be trained extensively to be ready for store management placement. This role involves cross-training in various departments, learning company policies and processes, and developing sales and management skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to four years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from upper management, employees, vendors, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
  • Ability to manage a diverse group of employees and form a producing/functioning team.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Internet software; and Database software.
  • Must have a valid driver license and have a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Rent to Own and/or wheel and tire experience is desirable but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Cross train in each department: Sales, Accounts, and Shop.
  • Shadow Sales Directors, Account Directors, Home Office, and Marketing/Internet Sales department.
  • Learn and become proficient in the policies, processes, and workings of each department.
  • Learn and become proficient in proper file completion as well as filing and tracking protection claims.
  • Learn and become proficient in placing orders, contacting operations for issues needing to be fixed, holding Friday morning meetings, and knowing which forms are required by the corporate office.
  • Learn and understand the monthly P&Ls.
  • Responsible for learning how to drive sales with outbound lead calls, marketing using flyers, goal setting and tracking, and the art of creating excitement in the store.
  • Other duties as assigned.
