About The Position

This role focuses on leading continuous improvement initiatives within Distribution Center operations to eliminate waste and reduce losses. The position involves applying methodologies like 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, and time & motion studies, aligning efforts with the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS). The Manager II will deliver results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and standard work creation, while also leading cost-saving projects and applying Network One Best Way playbooks. Support is provided to tactical deployment of WPS, management of improvement projects, loss profile analysis, and gap analyses for WPS integration. The role also involves assisting Area Managers with process improvement initiatives and coordinating projects by building stakeholder partnerships, communicating goals, establishing accountability, and identifying risks. People leadership includes supporting Department Managers with WPS programs, associate engagement, and KPI improvement, as well as building capability through coaching and direct supervision. Fostering a culture of belonging, accountability, and high performance is key. The role also emphasizes promoting company policies, ethical standards, and integrity, ensuring compliance, and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in Process Improvement
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • analytical skills
  • Process or Value Stream Simulation knowledge
  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long term savings

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, and time & motion studies to eliminate waste and reduce losses within Distribution Center operations.
  • Align improvement efforts with Network Process Structure and the Walmart Performance System (WPS).
  • Deliver functional area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and the creation of standard work to reduce process variation.
  • Lead cost‑savings and loss‑reduction projects by identifying inefficiencies and driving sustainable process improvements.
  • Apply Network One Best Way playbooks and provide input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities.
  • Support the tactical deployment of WPS methodology across the functional area.
  • Manage execution of improvement projects targeting top operational losses.
  • Support loss profile analysis and performance metrics; develop gap analyses to enable effective WPS integration.
  • Assist Area Managers with the review, execution, and response to process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee projects by building and maintaining strong stakeholder partnerships, supporting business and customer‑focused initiatives, communicating goals, timelines, and expectations, establishing accountability and measuring progress, identifying risks and improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Support Department Managers with WPS programs, associate engagement, and KPI improvement within assigned process areas.
  • Build capability across teams by coaching Area Managers and associates on continuous improvement principles.
  • Provide direct supervision and development through hiring, training, mentoring, work assignment, and recognition.
  • Foster a culture of belonging, accountability, and high performance.
  • Promote and support company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
