About The Position

This role leads process improvement initiatives within a Distribution Center, focusing on eliminating quality losses and deviations. The Process Engineer will utilize tools like 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies, aligning with Walmart's Performance System (WPS) and Network Process Structure. Responsibilities include submitting deviations to playbooks, providing input to improvement teams, managing project execution, and building the capability of other managers and associates. The role also involves creating quality loss profile analyses, performance metrics, and gap analyses for WPS integration. Additionally, the Process Engineer will lead quality-related savings projects, support Department Managers with WPS programs, drive KPI improvements, create standard work to reduce process variation, and review process improvement projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in Process Improvement
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical skills
  • Process or Value Stream Simulation knowledge
  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long term savings

Responsibilities

  • Leads process improvement tools and methods, such as 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies, focusing on eliminating quality losses and deviations in an area within a Distribution Center according to Network Process Structure, using Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs.
  • Compiles and submits deviations to existing One Best Way playbooks.
  • Provides input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities.
  • Assists with the tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology.
  • Manages project execution of top quality losses in the functional area.
  • Assists in building the capability of other area managers and associates.
  • Contributes to the creation of area quality loss profile analysis and performance metrics.
  • Develops gap analysis to support WPS integration.
  • Leads quality-related savings projects within the area of responsibility by taking loss out of the process.
  • Supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements within the process area.
  • Delivers expected functional area results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis and loss elimination.
  • Creates standard work to reduce process variation.
  • Assists with the review and response of quality-focused process improvement projects owned by area managers.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identifies and communicates goals and objectives, and builds accountability for and measures progress in achieving results.
