About The Position

Worley is a global energy, chemicals, and resources company headquartered in Australia. It partners with customers to deliver projects and create value across the asset lifecycle, providing consulting, engineering, procurement, and construction services through operations and decommissioning. The Manager I, Procurement Contracts role leads procurement contract activities across power generation projects, including simple-cycle and combined-cycle environments. The position provides direction throughout the contract lifecycle, from strategy and negotiation through execution and closeout, and ensures alignment with project objectives, contractual obligations, and Worley’s operational and commercial standards. The role works at the intersection of procurement, contracting, and project execution to support commercially sound, operationally effective project delivery. The successful candidate brings commercial acumen, technical understanding of construction contracts, and experience working in complex energy, infrastructure, or EPC project environments. The role involves close collaboration with project management, engineering, construction, supply chain, and legal teams, and may include leading and guiding procurement contracts personnel.

Requirements

Degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Typically 7+ years of experience in procurement, contracts management, or project delivery within energy, infrastructure, or EPC environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting or managing procurement contracts for simple-cycle and/or combined-cycle power construction projects.
Strong knowledge of contract structures, commercial terms, and procurement processes across construction and engineering scopes.
Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage commercial risk in dynamic project environments.
Experience administering contracts post-award, including managing changes, variations, and contractor performance.
Solid understanding of project execution models and how procurement contracts integrate with engineering and construction delivery.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate complex commercial and contractual scenarios.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and present to project teams and leadership.
Collaborative approach and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and align diverse stakeholders.
Experience with contract management systems, tools, and processes, including supporting improvements and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Manage procurement contracts activities for power projects in alignment with cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
Develop and implement contract strategies that balance commercial value, risk mitigation, and operational requirements.
Lead preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts for construction, engineering, and specialty services.
Support contractor selection, including supplier evaluation and alignment of capabilities with project needs.
Manage the contract lifecycle, including post-award administration, change management, and claims mitigation.
Identify and track contractual risks, and ensure deviations and scope changes are documented and communicated.
Collaborate with project management, engineering, construction, supply chain, and legal teams to support integrated project delivery.
Guide project teams on contract interpretation, commercial implications, and compliance requirements.
Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery milestones.
Support dispute resolution and claims defense through structured analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Lead and guide procurement contracts personnel where applicable, aligning work with team objectives and performance expectations.
Contribute to continuous improvement of contract management systems, processes, and tools.
