About The Position

This position will administer the company's existing joint use (pole and conduit) contract agreements with various utilities and service providers. The individual will ensure compliance from all parties for operational, legal, and financial means. The Contract Administrator participates in and generates reporting and analysis activities, training, documentation, and special projects. Continuous improvement in processes, practices, and procedures will are a requirement.

Requirements

  • Four years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or equivalent Law degree preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years in related field
  • 5+ years of general work experience
  • 5+ years of litigation, contract negotiation, mediation, arbitration
  • Roles in legal, regulatory, compliance, sourcing, procurement Understanding of utilities environment.
  • Strong understanding of legal contract verbiage and dispute resolution processes (e.g., mediation, arbitration, litigation)
  • Ability to interpret complex contractual language and assess legal and financial risk.
  • Experience advising senior leadership on legal risks, claims exposure, and dispute outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience handling contract disputes, claims, and legal proceedings.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration: Interprets and ensures mutual compliance with existing contracts.
  • Interpret complex contractual language and assess legal and financial risk.
  • Assist with the creation and negotiations for new contracts as well as assist in managing existing contracts.
  • Correctly bills other parties for reimbursable work completed by operational teams.
  • Reviews all billable work from other parties to insure proper billing and invoicing
  • Develops and issues contract-related reports.
  • Focal for issuance and resolution of contractual disputes.
  • Process Improvement: Establishes processes for real-time visibility.
  • Refine processes to minimize potential penalties and maximize revenue opportunities.
