About The Position

The Manager, HR Business Partner will act as a key partner to business leaders and employees, providing HR guidance to help drive both business performance and a positive employee experience. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Manager, HR Business Partner will serve as an advisor and advocate for the National Support teams (including IT, Finance, Corporate Development, and Legal) as well as our Property & Casualty Solutions client segment, ensuring that People Corporation HR policies, programs, and services directly contribute to the organization's strategic deliverables.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Business Partner, preferably in a high-growth or rapidly evolving environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to work a hybrid role requiring regular in-office presence while offering remote work flexibility.
  • To occasionally travel to other offices, as required.
  • To be a proactive self-starter with strong initiative and a goal-oriented mindset.
  • The ability to develop practical HR solutions from ambiguous or evolving requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, and the ability to influence decisions by building strong relationships, credibility, and trust.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving dynamic environment with varying priorities.
  • A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP designation (or equivalent) in progress or completed is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Workday or experience using Workday HRIS is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and interpretation of People Corporation’s People policies, procedures, and programs to support leaders and employees for client groups across the country.
  • Advise leaders by providing recommendations to support their decision-making on employee life cycle, leadership development, workforce planning, and change management practices while supporting the leaders to achieve strong business outcomes.
  • Proactively support leaders on performance management, employee relations, investigations, and terminations in accordance with legislation and internal policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on HR processes, policy interpretation, and leadership & employee coaching.
  • Use data and analytics to make informed decisions to identify patterns and influence leadership decisions.
  • Support and manage employee accommodations and disability management cases, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and alignment with organizational policies.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of provincial employment laws and regulations, ensuring consistent application across all client groups.
  • Foster a positive employee experience by maintaining open, timely, and effective communication with team members.
  • Participate in cross-functional HR projects, such as HRIS implementation or policy revamps, as well as support organizational change initiatives.
