About The Position

Responsible for quality improvement, human resource management, staff development, financial management, program planning, and collaboration with workforce management. Ensures smooth and efficient hospital operations by overseeing that staff resources are allocated appropriately by Hospital Supervisors, collaborates with key stakeholders to address patient/team member concerns needing escalation, supports workflow initiatives/process changes that align with ECU Health strategic framework imperatives/goals, participates in emergency management training drills/exercises that require activation/support by Hospital Supervisors, and maintains compliance with health regulations through adherence to organizational policies.

Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • Licensed in the State of North Carolina as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Minimum of five years progressive clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated team, analysis, presentation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on MS Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Previous leadership roles reporting to senior management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for program planning and decision making. Sets, implements and evaluates program development, implementation, evaluation and revisions. Promotes public relations to increase customer awareness of services provided.
  • Provides written policies and procedures, keeps job descriptions current and maintains other important documentation.
  • Acts on behalf of the Hospital Administrative staff to coordinate hospital services by making decisions that positively impact patient care. Has the power to implement decisions that are made and is the final authority in the hospital during the absence of the unit managers and administration.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the external/internal disaster plan and other emergency situations.
  • Provide leadership to ECUHMC Hospital Supervisors.
  • Counsels, supports, and mentors unit staff with decision making and strategizing how to best provide care to current and potential patients.
  • Coordinates with unit leaders, charge nurses, and/or staff nurses or other health care providers in the supervision of staff.
