Manager, Hiring & Internal Mobility

SimSpace Corporation
$140,000 - $190,000Remote

About The Position

SimSpace is seeking a Manager, Hiring & Internal Mobility to partner with the Head of Hiring on the day-to-day leadership of global recruiting efforts. This player-coach role involves managing a distributed team, owning strategic requisitions, and playing a significant role in attracting, assessing, hiring, developing, and retaining talent. The ideal candidate is energized by helping people find meaningful careers, fascinated by what predicts long-term success, and excited about building modern hiring practices. This role requires a blend of people leadership, talent strategy, operational execution, and recruiting expertise. The manager will coach recruiters, partner with leaders, optimize systems, improve hiring practices, and help employees discover internal opportunities. The focus is on improving the recruiting engine rather than just maintaining it. Responsibilities include leading and developing a distributed team, executing and evolving the global hiring strategy, managing strategic searches, coaching hiring managers and recruiters, leading internal mobility initiatives, optimizing the Ashby system, analyzing recruiting trends, shaping employer branding, and continuously improving recruiting processes.

Requirements

  • Fascinated by human behavior, motivation, and performance.
  • Love using data to inform decisions, but never forget the human side of hiring.
  • Enjoy improving systems, workflows, and processes as much as closing requisitions.
  • Think like a builder and get excited about creating something better than what exists today.
  • Enjoy coaching and developing others while still staying close to the work yourself.
  • Thrive in fast-moving environments where experimentation and calculated risk-taking are encouraged.
  • Question assumptions, challenge outdated practices, and continuously seek better ways of working.
  • Lifelong learner who stays curious about recruiting, technology, leadership, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Believe great hiring is a team sport and know how to build strong partnerships across an organization.
  • Actively recruit, source, problem solve, and jump into the work alongside your team.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and making informed decisions before every variable is known.
  • Motivated by improving processes, testing new ideas, and building what's next.
  • Believe candidate experience and employee experience are part of the same journey.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer highly structured environments where every process, decision, and next step is already defined.
  • Believe recruiting is primarily about filling open positions.
  • Rely heavily on intuition alone when making hiring decisions.
  • See technology as an administrative tool rather than a competitive advantage.
  • Uncomfortable giving candid feedback, challenging assumptions, or influencing stakeholders.
  • Need certainty before taking action.
  • Primarily motivated by maintaining what already exists.
  • Believe candidate experience and employee experience are separate conversations.

  • Drive adoption and optimization of Ashby, leveraging automation, reporting, workflows, and data to improve outcomes
