Manager, High Performance Computing
About The Position
Manage deployment, configuration, and provisioning of new AI HPC system solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Evaluate, maintain and upgrade HPC hardware, software and tools, including system monitoring, patching and troubleshooting. Handle VMware clusters, Veeam backup solutions and virtual/physical server configurations (Windows/Linux). Oversee server, network, storage and backup policy changes through change request processes, providing status reports to relevant parties. Manage vendor relationships and service delivery against SLAs, ensuring compliance and performance. Provide technical support for HPC and Linux. Candidate with VMware, Windows, WAF, and IT infrastructure skill is an advantage; perform additional duties as assigned. Continuously explore and propose innovative ideas, strategies, and technologies to enhance service offerings and differentiate from competitors. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in AI development, project management, and HPC, maintaining a competitive edge. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information technology or other related disciplines or equivalent
- 8 years of work experience where 5 years in Linux operations, preferably in data center or HPC operations
- Expertise in Docker, and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, WAF, VPNs, DNS, VLANs, network segmentation, SIEM tools and endpoint security
- Familiarity with AI concepts, technologies, and trends (e.g., large language models (LLMs), analytics, geospatial data)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences effectively
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and initiatives under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
Nice To Haves
- Candidate with VMware, Windows, WAF, and IT infrastructure skill is an advantage
- Relevant certifications e.g. NVIDIA, Certified Kubernetes Administrator etc. will be advantage
- Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
- experience with NVIDIA DGX systems, high-speed networks or Slurm is a plus
- Expsorue of AI programming frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow will be an advantage
