About The Position

Mater is seeking a talented and experienced Manager, Graphic Design to lead our brand and visual communications function. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for translating Mater’s brand and communications strategy into high quality, consistent and impactful design across digital and print channels. You’ll lead a small specialist team, manage design workflows and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver compelling visual solutions that support our mission and strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a graphic design or creative team in a complex organisation
• Strong expertise in brand management and visual identity systems
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality outputs
• Ability to balance creative direction with operational delivery

• Experience in healthcare, not-for-profit or other service based environments
• Leadership or management qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the graphic design function, ensuring high quality outputs across all channels
• Oversee design workflows, priorities and resourcing to meet organisational needs
• Provide expert advice on visual communication and brand application
• Ensure consistent adherence to brand guidelines, accessibility and design standards
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools and capability
• Manage external suppliers and creative partners to deliver value and quality outcomes
• Act as the escalation point for design risk, compliance and reputational considerations
• Coach and develop your team, fostering a high performing and collaborative culture
