About The Position

To seek, secure, and steward grant funds and grant-related relationships and resources by providing compliance monitoring, stewardship, and grant management services in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations and in alignment with district and Foundation goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions
  • Two (2) years of experience in educational administration and/or grant development and/or compliance.
  • One (1) year of experience providing technical assistance and training to individuals and groups, which includes project implementation, problem solving, event planning and facilitating peer learning opportunities
  • Demonstrated success working with and through stakeholders in establishing goals, objectives, and action plans to produce expected results.
  • Ability to effectively interact with teammates, teachers, community members, district employees, parents, and students.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use, create, manipulate, and analyze data within Excel spreadsheets and database systems.
  • Knowledge of school finances, particularly in the area of project budget development, set-up, and monitoring for compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong technical writing skills, including proposal development.
  • Ability to coordinate preparation of grant application budgets and facilitate processing from inception through award.
  • Ability to administer a funded project.
  • Understands that quality teaching and learning are the essential processes and product of public schools and has the ability to focus human and financial resources toward this goal.

  • Experience using financial, budget software and/or grants management software preferred
  • Finance and/or bookkeeping experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the management of incoming and outgoing grants from award to close out.
  • Work with and through people to develop compliance and accountability systems to ensure state and federal categorical programs comply with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance to fund managers, including face-to-face or virtual trainings.
  • Provide information to project managers regarding compliance issues and regulations.
  • Keep the Foundation leadership team and other appropriate staff members informed of current critical compliance requirements and issues about which they should be aware.
  • Assist with the development of a system of feedback and assessment of awarded projects to determine their responsiveness to the needs of the learning communities and other work locations.
  • Participate in the maintenance of clear lines of communications, dissemination of information and decision making within the department and between departmental staff, learning communities and other work locations.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines, executive limitations, the district’s instructional initiatives, and the school district’s charter guidelines.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
