More specifically, our Governance, Risk and Compliance Services practice under Risk Services Consulting provides expertise to our clients in the following areas: Internal Audit, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), Compliance (laws and regulations, internal policies and procedures, contracts), Corporate governance, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in an audit or accounting firm, or in a company's internal audit, internal control, risk management or compliance functions.
  • Degree or equivalent education in a relevant field (accounting, finance, economics, business administration).
  • Good command of the principles of internal audit, governance, risk management or regulatory compliance (e.g. SOX/52-109).
  • High degree of autonomy and proven ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Coaching and staff development experience.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CIA, CRMA professional designation (or similar) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Planning mandates for clients of varying size, scope and complexity, in the areas of Internal Audit, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), Compliance, Corporate governance, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). This includes allocating resources, determining the scope of mandates, establishing a roadmap and work program, and determining communication procedures with clients.
  • Supervising the execution of mandates by allocating tasks to team members, providing explanations as required, offering technical expertise, reviewing work and providing feedback to the team, communicating progress and potential issues to the partner in charge, and performing financial follow-up and monitoring compliance with deadlines and contractual commitments.
  • Implementing an effective communication channel with customers throughout mandates and maintaining the relationship.
  • Identifying customer needs and business opportunities, participating in the preparation of service offers, and explaining our services to customers.
  • Applying KPMG's risk management procedures (client acceptance and mandate processes).
  • Participating in employee development by contributing to the development and facilitation of training, providing feedback on work, recognizing good work, acting as a performance advisor for team members (helping determine goals for the year and ways to achieve them, following up during the year and supporting employees, participating in performance appraisals), and fostering inclusion.
