We are searching for the best talent for Manager GME Technical Operations. Our Cardiovascular team develops leading solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke. You will join a proud heritage of continually elevating standards of care for stroke, heart failure and atrial fibrillation (AFib) patients. The Manager, GME Technical Operations leads and manages the team and activities of the Equipment Engineering and CAD services group and will assure support to the entire business in these areas. They will be responsible for assuring manufacturing fixtures are designed and built properly to meet the needs of Production, as well as new product development. Additionally, they will establish and maintain best practices for all aspects of CAD, including CAD systems and files/drawing standards. Last, they will be responsible for building and maintaining the team of people who execute this work, as well as their performance management and professional development. Overall, this role provides end-to-end technical and engineering services, including prototype fabrication, tooling development, fixture manufacturing, and support for engineering and production builds. The Manager ensures rapid turnaround, high-quality execution, and effective emergency support for Manufacturing and NPI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical Discipline, Masters preferred
  • 2 years supervisory experience; Medical device experience preferred or other highly regulated environment.
  • Minimum 8 years related experience in a Manufacturing environment designing and leading the design of manufacturing equipment and fixturing
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software (SolidWorks) to design mechanical assemblies
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks, PDM Database and GDT Best Practices.
  • Knowledge of technical operations, resources, and setting priorities within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to gain cooperation of others and lead team members.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for existing products and new product development.
  • Design and develop equipment for new and existing products to ensure strong production abilities
  • Manage design team to build effective and efficient equipment for new & existing products.
  • Provide support to Product development and manufacturing departments by managing resources, supporting projects.
  • Identification of improvements for existing fixtures and equipment to optimize manufacturing process and uptime
  • Interface with development and manufacturing operation groups to ensure equipment meets product requirements and division objectives
  • Develop/maintain short and long-term strategies for providing and supporting equipment to improve process performance, assure product quality, and support manufacturing capacity forecasts
  • Analyze designs using solid models and drawings with Computer Aided Design (“CAD”) using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (“GD&T”), and stack-up analyses.
  • Provide timely inputs and reports to customers and management on workload planning, project prioritization, and project updates
  • Manage resources and efforts to implement efficiency, accountability, and standardization to build and maintain CAD database and infrastructure
  • Mange engineering resources to support CAD design needs of business
