About The Position

The primary function of the Manager, Global Portfolio Management is to manage their assigned portfolio of projects using standardized project management tools and processes to drive successful outcomes for Clinical Sciences and AbbVie. The incumbent will independently support multiple projects while working directly with team members and other stakeholders to address key business challenges across the Clinical Sciences organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional work experience with 3+ years supporting projects and programs from strategy through implementation across a range of business topics (e.g., capability development, operating model transformation, change management, process improvement).
  • Must possess basic project management capabilities including knowledge of project management best practices, risk analysis and mitigation planning, change management support, and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required.
  • Experience with both global and regional teams in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with business stakeholders to lead the design and implementation of strategic, cross-functional, projects for Clinical Sciences.
  • Provides project management support to project teams, including the development of project planning scenarios in collaboration with team members, identification, monitoring, and analysis of project risks, and action item tracking, organization and communication of team materials.
  • Leads project team meetings effectively using project governance processes to effectively escalate and support resolution of project issues. Demonstrates effective group facilitation skills and ability to support decision-making among team members regarding project strategy and deliverables.
  • Collaborates effectively with management, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and team members inside and outside of Clinical Sciences to implement cross-functional solutions.
  • Develops effective working relationships with project team members. Communicates (oral and written) and interacts effectively with project sponsors, and shares information regarding projects concisely and effectively to project stakeholders.
  • Prepares status reports and dashboards using standard methodologies, tracking risks and mitigation plans, as well as other project roadblocks and facilitates resolution.
  • Supports deliverable preparation and may own select individual deliverables based on the needs of individual project teams.
