About The Position

The Manager General Accounting is responsible for the month-end closing process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and Financial Statements prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) for the Affiliated Entities of AtlantiCare. This is accomplished through strong oversight and development of the accounting staff. This position develops and evaluates accounting controls and procedures. The Manager is responsible for accurate reporting and interpretation of financial information to the Director of Finance – Financial Reporting and Management. The Manager will work directly with the daily banking activities, plant ledger and grant related financial reporting. Manager also works closely with External Auditors during annual audit of the various organizations financial statements. This position works closely with the Accounting staff of the Medical Center due to the many intercompany transactions that occur. A strong working knowledge of financial systems and reports is required. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 4-6 years financial experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems and reports is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant or Masters Degree preferred
