About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical and professional job responsibilities related to the management of food safety and quality expectations at Tyson Foods’ suppliers & contract manufacturers. Specific responsibilities include assessing partner suitability and compliance to Tyson requirements. Developing working relationships with our external partners to manage consistent conformance to specifications, customer complaints, regulatory requirements and food safety guidelines. Analyzing and resolving food safety and/or quality issues, product disposition decisions, innovation and project support and conducting routine food safety and quality audits of assigned facilities. This position serves as a food safety and quality resource for the Contract Manufacturing & Procurement teams and is critical in delivering Supply Chain flexibility while appropriately managing business risk. The position requires a strong working knowledge of diverse plant processes and associated risks. The person must have the ability to collaborate with multiple other departments such as R&D and the Business Unit representatives, while driving activities centered around overall improvements in plant performance. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of FSQA – External Manufacturing. This position will be based in the Corporate office and will support several domestic locations. This Team Member will be expected to travel up to 50% of the time working directly with the facility teams on compliance to Tyson FSQA Expectations. The position will also partner with Tyson Business Partners such as R&D, IPL, Sales, and the BU to communicate on-site activities and support business growth as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 plus years’ experience.
  • Significant experience in food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Management experience in the manufacture of high-risk foods and their processes preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of various Tyson business software programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be an independent worker capable of consistent engagement geared towards driving results.
  • Up to 50% travel required.
