About The Position
The Finance Manager supports departmental financial activities, including reporting, cost accounting, and compliance, while partnering closely with operational teams. The role is responsible for managing the department's financial functions and ensuring effective financial support to the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven experience with relevant financial reporting standards
Nice To Haves
- A Master’s degree in Law or Engineering would be an asset
- A relevant certification (CPA, CFA) is considered an asset
- experience working within a multinational organization is an asset
- Previous experience leading or supervising finance teams in a hands-on capacity is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Oversee financial/accounting systems while ensuring compliance with internal policies and standards.
- Maintain the integrity of financial data through reconciliations and related controls.
- Support departmental and operational priorities through financial analysis and business partnership.
- Lead and coach financial analysts, fostering their development and accountability.
- Provide guidance on compliance, reporting standards, and cost-management practices.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end close activities and operational support tasks.
- Support cost-control activities and reconciliation procedures.
