About The Position

The Manager Food Service is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Galley, and ensuring annual goals, compliance and financial targets are met or exceeded. Responsible for all production requirements of 3,500+ meals per day, including but not limited to procurement of food and supplies necessary for the operation and financial accountability of consumable supplies, food and labor costs within the operation. RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Implements strategy for the day-to-day activities of the Galley ensuring annual goals, compliance and financial targets are met or exceeded. Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. Maintains operating budget and manages expenses. Communicates budgetary performance. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems, processes and programs.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Must have valid driver's license, necessary insurance and be able to legally operate a Goodwill vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Implements strategy for the day-to-day activities of the Galley ensuring annual goals, compliance and financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs.
  • Maintains operating budget and manages expenses.
  • Communicates budgetary performance.
  • Manages departmental structure, development and training of staff.
  • Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
  • Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental function.
  • Manages change with direct reports and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
  • Understands social trends driving Goodwill's community engagement initiatives, and champions initiatives.
  • Responsible for all production requirements of up to 3,500 meals per day, including but not limited to procurement of food and supplies necessary for the operation.
  • Responsible for financial accountability of consumable supplies, food and labor costs within the operation.
  • Run required reports and fill out forms issued by either Goodwill Industries of SE Wisconsin or the Navy.
  • Provide back up to supervisors in case of emergencies, illness or vacation time.
  • Ensure that the overall management and day-to-day operation follow the applicable contract in force.
  • Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
