About The Position

Knapp Medical Center is seeking a Manager Food & Nutrition to assist in planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling the day-to-day operation of food services. The department’s operations include scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and production, with the goal of ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies.

The manager serves as a culinary resource and performs duties necessary for optimal patient care. This includes supporting the safety and efficiency of food prepared in the department, meeting budgetary requirements, and ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines and department policies and procedures.

Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas, and a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation. It has 227 beds and has served Mid-Valley residents for 60 years.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current food safety certification from an accredited organization; certification must be maintained.
• Two years of experience in food service operations.
• Computer and software proficiency.
• Obtain the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential within six months of hire.
• County-specific Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintained current.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts from an accredited Culinary Institute preferred.
