About The Position

Texas Health Azle has served the tri-county area of North Texas since 1953. Our 36-bed community hospital provides care to residents in Azle, Lake Worth, Springtown, and surrounding Tarrant, Wise, and Parker county communities. We specialize in outpatient surgery and GI endoscopy, along with comprehensive rehabilitative therapies that include physical therapy, hand therapy, lymphedema treatment, and pelvic health services. Our advanced imaging capabilities include digital mammography, CT scans, bone density, and MRI. Our emergency department serves one of the largest geographic areas in the DFW Metroplex, providing care across three counties. Texas Health Azle holds Joint Commission accreditation for disease-specific Chest Pain care and is designated by the Texas Department of Health & Human Services as a Level IV Trauma Center and Level IV Support Stroke Facility. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years experience in a large scale commercial operation that includes patient care, cafeteria, and catering required
  • FHC - Food Handlers Certificate required within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree food service management, dietetics, culinary or hospitality management preferred
  • CDM - Certified Dietary Manager or NDTR - Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registered preferred upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the financial aspect of the cafeteria to include the cash deposits on a daily basis properly documenting discounts, taxes, overage or shortages. Process the change order request on time as well as properly documenting the order on the proper form.
  • Responsible for human resource functions including performance reviews, staff development, Food Handler cards, attendance monitoring, incident reports, scheduling and corrective action.
  • Purchases and manages all food and supplies for the department.
  • Perform department training based on needed in reference to skills, safety and sanitation standards. Train staff to create and present professional presentations and merchandising based on all phases of service. Accurately execute from proper planning to the final clean up. Receive feed back from catered participants to ensure satisfaction was provided. Monitors department areas for compliance with department and TDH food safety and sanitation standards. Has a comprehensive understanding of the HACCP standards and is able to educate staff members. Monitors staff on hand hygiene and patient ID when delivering items into the patient rooms.
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team. Actively participate in department decisions and looks for innovative ways that help with positive growth of the department. Leads team efforts to improve patient/customer satisfaction.
