About The Position

The Manager of Medical Transport Communications Center leads and develops a high performing team of air or ground medical transport Communication Specialists by fostering collaboration and achieving the strategic goals of Intermountain Health while maintaining a high-level service, sustainability, simplification and safety. This position works to optimize operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement within the department and organization through compliance with safety, regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing caregivers, operations and processes in a fast-paced business environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in a public safety dispatch, healthcare setting, aviation or ground leader/dispatch role, or EMS role
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office suite

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
  • Two years of leadership experience leading people and processes
  • Five years of experience working in a public safety dispatch, healthcare setting, or EMS role
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and improving systems used in an air or ground dispatch environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Medical Transport Communication Center air or ground operations and reports outcomes to appropriate organizational leaders.
  • Oversees the effective management of the Medical Transport Communication Center human resources, including staffing needs, scheduling, recruiting, hiring, terminating, disciplinary actions and performance evaluations.
  • Maintains compliance with quality assurance, provides investigation and escalation into complaints or areas of non-compliance and determines and communicates desired outcomes.
  • Implements strategic plans for the Communications Center as outlined by the organization.
  • Supports ongoing relationships with community and organizational leaders and serves as an ambassador of Intermountain Health.
  • Successfully manages the fiscal goals of the department.
  • Acts as a role model and fosters an environment of professionalism and caregiver engagement.
  • Mentors and coaches' caregivers and leaders in the department.
