About The Position
The Manager, Fleet Services Automation Engineering role involves explaining operational functions, clarifying departmental roles and their relevance to enterprise strategy, and describing the interdependence of support and line operating functions. This position identifies primary operational functions, locates information on fundamental practices and policies, and lists common tasks performed by operations functions. A key aspect of this role is leveraging data analysis tools to explore data, test hypotheses, use data to influence strategy, and build/present insights. The manager will identify, implement, and drive technology change, use visualization tools to represent data and influence decisions, and utilize fact-based information for recommendations. Active listening, constructive feedback, and process improvement ideas are essential. The role also includes updating CAD drawings, understanding drafting conventions, navigating control systems, and demonstrating knowledge of electrical design concepts and wiring schematics in supply chain automation. Familiarity with mechanical components of Distribution Center and Fulfillment Center equipment, identifying automation machinery usage, assessing tasks for automation potential, and analyzing space/cost requirements for machinery are also part of the duties. The position involves identifying and resolving issues related to automation machinery, interpreting information to quantify supply chain decisions, managing supplier relationships, understanding logistics, and utilizing business process design tools to analyze and recommend improvements. Project management responsibilities include planning and estimating simple projects, producing status reports, gathering stakeholder information, assisting with detailed project plans, and providing input for project tracking charts.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or the equivalent in Engineering, or a related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Engineering, or a related field plus 2 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or related experience.
- Experience with analyzing data with data analysis tools to influence strategic work, implement and drive technology change and utilizing visualization tools (Power BI/ Tableau) to represent data.
- Experience with Google Big Query, Microsoft office, and Power BI for data analysis, visualization, and automation processes.
- Experience explaining key concepts of data analysis methods, listing major sources for collecting data, exploring and manipulating data using various tools, analyzing data, and identifying trends, outliers, and correlations.
- Experience understanding manual intensive workloads for different processes and devising ways to improve efficiency while achieving significantly lesser errors.
- Experience identifying areas for automation, assessing tasks for automation potential, obtaining information about alternative automation solution using technical skills such as designing power automate flows, Google Big Query, Power BI and other relevant tools to help in the automation.
- Experience using data to identify business challenges and opportunities and provide solutions.
- Experience with customer analytics to enhance customer experience and engagement.
- Experience planning and estimating simple projects, producing standard project status reports, assisting in detailed project plans, managing multiple projects with varying timelines simultaneously.
- Experience owning the delivery of project activity, supporting process updates and changes, and demonstrating functional knowledge of the business unit/organization being supported.
