Collaborates effectively across departments to support organizational objectives. Responsible for computing, recording, and verifying financial data to maintain accurate accounting records, with primary responsibility for fixed asset accounting. Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of fixed asset accounting for the company. Review and oversee fixed asset additions, retirements, depreciation expense, and gain/loss on disposals, including all related reconciliations. Maintain and enforce the company’s fixed asset policy to ensure compliance with GAAP; provide guidance to business partners on capitalizable costs. Prepare or track internal capitalized compensation costs. Prepare or review account reconciliations for assigned areas. Prepare quarterly and annual schedules and analyses for auditors and tax consultants. Ensure compliance with internal SOX controls for assigned areas. Support development and enhancement of accounting policies and drive process improvement initiatives at both corporate and store levels. Lead fixed asset accounting operations, including direct supervision of Fixed Asset Accountant, to record all elements of fixed asset accounting including capitalization, transfers and impairments/write-offs. Develop, mentor, and manage team members, with responsibility for potential team growth.
