About The Position

To effectively implement and maintain the functionality of the Fingerprint Management Service (FMS) in accordance with federal, state and district regulations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution or any equivalent combination of related education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources and/or criminal justice, to include using fingerprint software, required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license due to traveling to multiple locations
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively both orally and through written communication and to focus resources (both human and financial) toward the achievement of the district goals.
  • Ability to facilitate group processes in consensus building, planning and decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using fingerprinting and badging software systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate laws and criminal history documents and background screening information.
  • Knowledgeable of legal requirements and state statutes regarding criminal history.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising or leading teams preferred.
  • Experience in iCIMS and SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of customer service and consistently following departmental objectives.
  • Assist with the orientation and training of all employees new to Fingerprint Services and Vendor Badging.
  • Prepare files and make recommendations for appeals, as needed.
  • Check and verify the government sexual predator database to ensure no OCPS employees are listed.
  • Analyze and evaluate criminal history background.
  • Oversee and manage the OCPS fingerprint project for all current employees to ensure that each person will have up to date fingerprints on file in a timely manner and in conjunction with legal requirements.
  • Maintain the FDLE database on a daily basis to ensure only existing employees are on file.
  • Coordinate affiliated personnel groups’ listings provided by various sources to determine the fingerprint status of the individual’s listed.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of related reports.
  • Compose and coordinate correspondence as the subject matter expert to all stakeholders as it relates to fingerprint compliance and vendor badging.
  • Responsible for evaluating and supervising staff.
  • Keep Assistant Director, HR Compliance informed of critical issues within the Fingerprint Services section and incidents about which he/she should be aware.
  • Collaborate and maintain cooperative working relations with all members of the Chief of Staff Division.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines, executive limitations, the district’s instructional initiatives and the school district’s charter guidelines.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Must be flexible to work in multiple locations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
