About The Position

This role partners closely with a CIO team in Scotiabank’s Technology division, providing high-quality financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting to support informed decision-making. The manager will translate complex financial data into clear insights, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and act as a trusted advisor to senior technology leaders. We are looking for a curious, agile leader with strong financial acumen who is eager to learn, grow, and build strong business partnerships.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Financial Planning and Analysis work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience in developing/compiling management reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborator who can act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • The incumbent must be a creative, self-starting, results-oriented, great attention to detail, and highly motivated individual with good analytical skills to apply this knowledge to assist in the development of the streamlined accounting processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting designation (CPA) preferred
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with various Bank’s accounting systems is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders across the CIO organization to deliver timely financial insights and decision support in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance analysis and executive-ready commentary
  • Drive monthly forecasting and annual budgeting with CIO senior leaders, collaborating closely to deliver accurate inputs within tight central Finance timelines
  • Analyze technology spend, cost drivers, risks, and opportunities to support investment, prioritization, and trade-off decisions
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
  • Proactively challenge assumptions and enable data-driven decisions in a dynamic technology landscape
  • Mentor and coach Senior Financial Analysts, supporting skill development, quality of outputs, and career growth
  • Continuously improve financial models, reporting processes, and ways of working to meet evolving business needs
