About The Position

Contributes to the overall success of the International Banking (IB) Financial Planning & Analysis team in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This role champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. It involves providing support to IB countries and coordinating financial activities of month and quarter end closing, forecasting and planning (Executive Reports, Plan, EWST, among others) and submissions. The role requires reviewing financial statements and analyzing countries’ results, performing reasonability checks on countries’ submissions, and analyzing and identifying profit improvement opportunities for IB countries. It also involves analyzing and reviewing processes with the countries to achieve divisional performance goals and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Understanding the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture is crucial for day-to-day activities and decisions. The role includes developing and maintaining financial measurement processes and a comprehensive business model for accurate and consistent assessment of financial performance at the divisional, regional, and country level, including developing/analyzing key input data (e.g. FX rates, financial ratios, Transfer Pricing, Attributed Capital, etc.). Regular deep dive analysis is performed to provide senior management insights into business results. Additionally, the role involves building databases and models to centrally administer system adjustment information such as M&A, Divestitures, one-time items, among others. The role also champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Advanced excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to IB countries and coordinate financial activities of month and quarter end closing, forecasting and planning (Executive Reports, Plan, EWST, among others) and submissions.

  • Analyze and identify profit improvement opportunities for IB countries.
